A cutting-edge initiative in the heart of Englewood

A green development project by, with, and for residents.

This is What Community Ownership Looks Like

Aligned with Englewood Quality of Life plans, Go Green on Racine (“Go Green”) is an equitable development neighborhood initiative. At the intersection connecting Englewood and West Englewood areas, it will introduce three catalytic developments: a Fresh Market Co-operative, an innovative repurposing of a former Chicago Public School as a hub for supportive housing, reentry services and green enterprise; and a mixed-use development with housing, a business incubator, and a famous Italian restaurant all inside. Along with two accompanying strategies – transit advocacy and a housing vision— 63rd & Racine will have centrally located amenities and programs benefitting residents and entrepreneurs alike with integrated supports so they can thrive.
